Maternity leave goals

Now that Vivian has arrived (5/26/17) and I’m home for the summer with her on my maternity leave, I plan on getting Weave the People Creations into full swing. In between her 3 hour eat, change, nap schedule and a few loads of laundry per week (or day!), scarf production will really start to ramp to get my inventory back up to levels like last fall. I’m also excited to be launching my Etsy shop in late August…stay tuned. Lots going on, little time to do it, but I’m determined!

Booth display

I should have taken a before and after of the cascading bin display from Saturday’s show at Needham. Need to (literally) fill in the holes between now and 11/19 at Wellesley to get it back looking like this:

Back in Business

After a busy year, complete with a move to Charlestown, I am finally settled and am happy to open up my “loom room”. Ready to kick off the Fall 2016 craft show season with a bang, with new patterns and beautiful scarves. It’s going to be a busy spring getting ready! IMG_20160227_150430 (1)

Done with my MBA, bring on the loom

I finished my MBA after 3 years of taking classes part-time and working full-time at TJX. So relieved to be done, and I feel very proud of myself for sticking with it! I learned a lot and think the different courses will be extremely beneficial for my business down the line.

Now that I have so much “free” time back, I’m weaving away and building up my inventory for the Fall. Stay tuned for more creations to come!

Application season

Wow, time flies! That time of year is upon us for filling out applications for the Fall 2013 craft show season. I am hoping to do at least 5 shows this Fall. This will be my second season doing shows in Massachusetts. I used to do all of my shows in Connecticut where I am originally from, but it’s time to expand my distribution. It is difficult making contacts in a new state, however, I was able to meet a lot of great vendors last Fall that have assisted in me finding shows to apply to. I’m hoping to build up my contacts this season after having a few Massachusetts shows under my belt.

Alrighty, back to the applications!

Happy New Year!

I’m a few weeks late, but Happy 2013 everyone! Reflecting back on the 2012, Weave the People Creations has gone through many positive transformations. I was originally selling my scarves in Connecticut (my home state), and after living in Boston for the past 4 1/2 years, I finally made the move to sell my scarves in Beantown (sorry, Mom!). It was great trying a variety of shows this past Fall, and I look forward to repeating some of the same shows this year, and trying some new ones too!

In the meantime, I’ll be weaving away in between my full-time job in merchandising at TJX Companies, finishing up my last semester for my MBA, and taking care of my adorable pup, Stanley! Here’s to a great 2013 for Weave the People Creations!!

While some might say I’m a master weaver, I don’t think anyone would say I’m destined to be a graphic designer. So when it came time to design WTPC’s logo I turned to the expertise of my brother Paul, the architect, to capture the spirit of WTPC. Check out the finalized logo below!
